Seven local middle schools participated in the inaugural Glenbrook South Science Olympiad Meet on Sunday, Nov. 17.

The meet was Glenbrook South’s first time hosting a Science Olympiad competition. GBS Science Olympiad co-captain Elizabeth Welch-Jani conceived of the idea as a way for high school students to share their love of science with middle schoolers while bringing attention to GBS’s successful Science Olympiad program in the community. The GBS Science Olympiad team finished 12th in state competition in 2017 and 14th in 2018 in the most competitive division.
