The scene outside Glenview Village Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 5, was symbolic of the occasion: Chabad of Glenview & Morton Grove’s 15th annual menorah-lighting ceremony.

At 5:59 p.m., the west lawn was cold, quiet and dark. But only a few minutes later, hot chocolate warmed bodies, song filled the air and a massive menorah burned bright through the night.
