Two men carjacked another man Wednesday afternoon outside an apartment building in unincorporated Glenview, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
The carjacking occurred at 2:29 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the 10400 block of Michael Todd Terrace, Matt Walberg, deputy press secretary for the sheriff’s office, said in a statement. The location of the incident is just a block from the Village of Glenview’s western boundary of Milwaukee Avenue.
Two men approached the victim as he got out of his minivan and pushed him into the doorway of the residence where he parked while demanding his belongings, Walberg said. He added one of the two men was armed with a handgun.
The victim got away from the men inside the residence and yelled for a relative as one of the men drove away in the victim’s Ford Freestar van, according to Walberg. The second man was confronted by a relative of the victim as he tried to get into another car in the parking area, then fled on foot, the statement says.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office does not have anyone in custody and is continuing to investigate the carjacking. The sheriff’s office did not provide a description of the two men involved.
